Default Help with Guru Forums

I know this may be a stupid question, but I've been trying to sell things here on the forums and I've seen how people can have screenshots of the weapons right in their posts. However, I have yet to be able to figure out how to do so. Could anyone help me out with a how to guide of sorts? It would be greatly appreciated.

There are a couple different ways you can do it. You can either attach your screenshots to your post (it doesn't actually show up in the post, but there's a link to it) or you could put the images directly in the post.

In order to attach a screenshot (won't show up in the physical post, but there will be a link), above the list buttons in the window where you type in a message, there's a paperclip icon. Click on that and find your file.

To directly put an image into your post:
 1. You'll need an account with a website like www.photobucket.com or www.imageshack.com. Either will do
 2. Once you have an account set up with them (it's free), upload your files to that account
 3. Once they're uploaded, they will offer several different code lines for different things. Find one simliar to "Forum" or "[IMG]"
 4. Copy that code and paste it here

Hope this helps

Also, in order to just post the weapon/item itself - you need some sort of image editing program like Photoshop to cut out the "background" of the item box.
(Make a selection just around the border of the description pop-up, and erase everything outside of that box)

It is easier with photoshop but if you dont have a program like that one, paint will do nicely.

Just to clarify, you don't have to use one of those sites. Many people have webspace allotted to them by their ISP. Or you can use any other webspace available to you.

To put the img into your post you can use the "insert image" button at the top of the edit window when you are making up the post. Just put the URL to the img in the box that pops up.

Or - you can manually put in the post. (If it was an actual URL, it would show the image and you wouldn't see the tags.)

Make sure you read the rules in Ventari's as well. They are stickied at the top if each forum (sell, high end, etc).
